Councilman Dolan collapses during Greenport special town board meeting
Town of Greenport, NY, October 26 — Minutes into the special town board meeting of Monday, October 26, board member Jim Dolan suffered what appeared to be a cardiac arrest.
Just prior he had proposed an alternative schedule of board meetings on the path towards presenting the preliminary budget to the public, when Supervisor Kathy Eldridge interrupted her response to him and suddenly urged people in the room to call 9-1-1.
What ensued was chaos. No one present had any idea what to do and it was Kathy, a former nurse, who gave Dolan CPR as everyone else was tensely awaiting the arrival of emergency services.
Within no more than a few minutes of the 9-1-1 call, the Sheriff's Office was on the scene with multiple officers and less than five minutes later the Greenport Rescue Scad arrived.

It was uncertain at first if Dolan would be brought to Columbia Memorial Hospital or via helicopter to Albany. Last I heard is that the medical personnel were able to stabilize him enough to transport him to Albany.
